The Waunakee High School student business club, “FBLA” (Future Business Leaders of America) will be sponsoring a toilet paper drive for WNC. The following FBLA student leaders volunteered to take charge of this project: Taylor Zimprich, Brandon Creamer, Alex Brost, and Brandon Jaeger. The students understand the need all families have for essential items and thus developed the idea of a toilet paper drive. The drive will take place Monday, February 13th through February 27th. During this timeframe, the students will have the WNC purple bins placed at these local businesses: Culver’s, Fitness for Success, Adventures in Learning, Curves, Piggly Wiggly,Walgreens.
An event will also take place on Saturday, February 18, 2012 during the Waunakee High School boys’ varsity basketball game when the team takes on Milwaukee Washington High School. The game and the FBLA event will take place at the Waunakee High School Field House. One dollar of every ticket sold to the game will be donated to the WNC toilet paper drive. A purple bin will be located at the game for everyone who would like to donate toilet paper. Also, the students will put on an exciting and interesting halftime show to promote the toilet paper drive .
The halftime show will involve four toilet bowls! The game will consist of four high school students from the four different classes, attempting to make as many toilet paper roll “baskets” as possible, into the four porcelain bowls. The winner will receive a prize from a local business – but the biggest prize will be the fun everyone will have and the donations WNC will receive. Be sure to “roll” in for the fun!
WNC is very excited that Philip Simon, of the Waunakee Community Area Foundation has partnered with us for the February 25, 2012 Mentalist Show, “Some Experiences Remain A Memory For Life!” For every ticket we sell, WCAF will provide a donation to WNC. The show is at the Waunakee High School Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. The cost of the event is $15 for adults and $10 for students. Don’t miss this chance to have some good family fun, support WNC and the Waunakee Community Area Foundation on February 25th!
