This week’s Community Resource Fair spotlight is Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS). Domestic abuse can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, income, race, sexual orientation, education, or religion. DAIS works to empower those affected by domestic violence and advocate for social change through support, education, and outreach. Their wide array of crisis intervention and community education and prevention programs include a 24-hour Help Line, programming for children from violent homes, legal advocacy, support groups, emergency safety planning, and the only domestic violence shelter for all of Dane County. Educating yourself about resources like DAIS is not just a way to empower yourself, but it allows you to best support any friends and loved ones affected by these issues. Learn more on our website or by attending the Community Resource Fair on September 11th!
