Building a Stronger Community Scholarship
Spearheaded by former board member Tom O'Rourke and WNC supporter Tarek Saleh, WNC’s Building a Stronger Community Scholarship is aimed at empowering students to achieve their educational goals while perpetuating service in the Waunakee community.
WNC will annually award one scholarship to applicants that meet the criteria to further their formal education in an accredited institution of higher learning. The scholarship grant awarded by WNC shall be no less than $500.00 per year (for a maximum of four years), with payments made directly to the education institution.

Applicants must be:
- Client in good standing with Waunakee Neighborhood Connection, having personally served at least one time per month for a total of 12 hours in the past year; and either
- A high school senior applying to a two or four year accredited college, technical school or university anticipating graduation during the year of application who meets the grant criteria as listed below; or
- A current college student who meets the grant criteria as listed below, and is attending an accredited college, technical school or university
- Unrelated to any members of the staff or Board of Directors of WNC.
