Did You Know?

Mission: Waunakee Neighborhood Connection (WNC) supports hundreds of Waunakee, Wisconsin area residents by providing individuals and families who are going through hard times everyday necessities such as clothing, diapers, toiletries, bedding, and even vehicles for transportation. In addition, WNC collaborates with over 45 area resources to assist and empower families with housing, health care, food, financial, educational, transportation, and employment needs. 84% of all money raised at WNC goes toward program costs. As a volunteer based organization, WNC offers valuable opportunities for businesses, school groups and others to give of their time and talent.  Over 4197 committed volunteer hours have been logged already this year!

Programs we do: WNC Store – Provides “Stuff” for community members in need. These items are provided for FREE and are comprised of most new and gently used items in your house. Over 14,375 pounds of clothes and shoes have been donated this year so far. Build a Bed – Huge need for this, partnership with Waunakee Furniture $289 buys a new queen mattress, box spring, and frame, WNC supplies new bedding through our partnership with Bed Bath and Beyond Christmas Meals - $25/each – supplies a family with all the fixings for meal – biggest cost of program at $15,000+ Fill the Bus – School supplies are provided for over 200 students. Backpacks, notebooks, folders, pen and pencils. Even some of the special items like calculators are provided.
